Step 1 – You’ll Need to Mix the Solution

In the attachable container tank, mix seed, water, fertilizer, and either cellulose fiber or mulch. Follow the directions and make sure to use exact proportions. Mulch would be the most important out of all the ingredients because it protects for the wind and sun and gives nutrients to the seed.

Step 2 -Attach the Hose to Tank

Attach  the hose  to the tank with the solution. Spray thoroughly the entire area where you want the seed to grow. The best time to hydroseed is in spring when you can take advantage of most sunlight.

Step 3 –  Keep the Lawn Moist

First two weeks is crucial when you first spray, closely keep an eye on the lawn and keep it wet. Moisten the hydroseed area lightly three times per day for week 1, gradually watering it less  as time goes by. Keeping the lawn moist should give the fertilizer  and seed a chance to spout.

Step 4 – Touch Up May Be Needed

As the grass begins to grow, you may noticed that you missed some areas. And it can be fixed easily. Simply spray the solution on the area where the seed didn’t take hold and follow the same steps in Step 3, keeping it moist as the grass grows..

Step 5 – Less Watering

You need to keep the area moist, but you don’t need to water as many time a day. This is where the hydroseed solution comes into play. It protects the seed and will germinate in time. Decrease watering gradually so the seeds aren’t soaked.
